Weekend Recap

Monday, August 22, 2011
The weekend definitely started out on the right foot-- I didn't have to work (probably should have but that's a whole different game)!  We started our Friday night catching up with friends (how are we ever going to move out of the building?!) and gearing up for our big night out.  Andy's friend Dee was in town for a gig.  See, the thing is, Andy and I are usually in bed by 11 (maybe 11:30 on the weekends), and Dee didn't start spinning (um, is that the correct terminology?) until 12:30.  Needless to say, I had 2 cups of coffee at 9:30pm.  Before he went on, we caught up with Dee and Eleanor which was great.  Then there was more catching up to do over brunch on Saturday, followed by dinner on the roof that night.

A perfect, low key Saturday night after our Friday out on the town.

On Sunday, the girls met up for coffee before going to see The Help.  I loved the movie even though there were parts that were quite hard to watch. I laughed, I cried (we all cried!) and laughed some more.  I was deep into the story and the characters so much so that I didn't really take in the surroundings.  While I obviously did notice the familiar places from my childhood (love those grilled cheese sandwiches and cherry limeades from Brent's), I want to see it again and focus a bit more on the details and backgrounds.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  I can't believe there's only one more weekend in August!  For me, summer is still June, July and August even though technically the last day of summer is September 21.  But fall thoughts have been creeping in.  This weekend Andy did say how he was starting to crave chili, and every time I get dressed, all I want to wear are leggings, scarfs and boots!

  1. Loved The Help, was hoping you were gonna see it too.
How funny about Andy craving chili, as I am craving it too. . .I might need to borrow a receipe from you this fall!
